natural observations

As I observe mother nature more and more, I have come to notice that many natural occurrences can be easily compared to our own human actions. Take most bolts of lightning for example- They surges through the sky with so much force, drive and passion...just trying to find something,or someone, to connect with.

The first thing I see is effort. Some are better than others, yet many go through their short lives never to make an impact. Some may stand out and bring light onto our dark world, and others may just appear as a flicker of light in the distance-just like the people in our everyday lives, just like ourselves.

If you are just a flicker, you go on unnoticed; If you are to fast and powerful, you may scare people off. So to be admired, as lightning in the sky, you have to be focused, calm and most important-collective. Remember, perception is the reality. As unfortunate as that may be sometimes...it is.

Lightning main focus is to find a connection with something. As it races through its short second of a life, all it wants is to connect with something or someone and become a part of what it is. Like some people, some lightning just wants to grab onto something and destroy it! Then others just want to become a part of it; to be absorbed by it...possibly even become its fuel and ability to go on. Others want to make a connection and pass through to the world. Become one with something and then connect with the earth- back to mother nature...I would even say to go full circle, if you will. The

Lets take this picture. Looking at it you can understand what I am saying above, but what about everything besides the lightning bolt? What about the surroundings that may have been effected or changed due to its existence?

Like in our everyday lives, we effect those around us. This lightning bolt has done more than many of us will ever do in our lives! It has been seen and heard by 100's maybe thousands of people. Look at the cars on the street, as the lightning reflects off of the back windows. What about the people that may have woken up due to this one fraction of a second? What did it do for them?

Every day we make a change to something. It is strange, to me, that most people don;t notice these changes and actions that go on around us. By taking that picture I caused that second to be captured and observed by more than just a few. By writing these thoughts I have triggered other thoughts. Maybe some people think this is a stupid rant...or maybe this motivates them to live and find something to connect with.

This bolt of lightning sadly is like so many in the world- It never connected with anything. But what it has done in changing its surrounding, like the reflections off the car windows, and those who see it, myself and you-it only took one second to make that happen.

So go and search, live, love, touch, change...anything. Just remember that whatever you do means something to someone, whether anyone ever knows that or not.

Love life, smile often and laugh till it hurts.

As always, be well*

Next I think of how
