natural observations

As I observe mother nature more and more, I have come to notice that many natural occurrences can be easily compared to our own human actions. Take most bolts of lightning for example- They surges through the sky with so much force, drive and passion...just trying to find something,or someone, to connect with.

The first thing I see is effort. Some are better than others, yet many go through their short lives never to make an impact. Some may stand out and bring light onto our dark world, and others may just appear as a flicker of light in the distance-just like the people in our everyday lives, just like ourselves.

If you are just a flicker, you go on unnoticed; If you are to fast and powerful, you may scare people off. So to be admired, as lightning in the sky, you have to be focused, calm and most important-collective. Remember, perception is the reality. As unfortunate as that may be sometimes...it is.

Lightning main focus is to find a connection with something. As it races through its short second of a life, all it wants is to connect with something or someone and become a part of what it is. Like some people, some lightning just wants to grab onto something and destroy it! Then others just want to become a part of it; to be absorbed by it...possibly even become its fuel and ability to go on. Others want to make a connection and pass through to the world. Become one with something and then connect with the earth- back to mother nature...I would even say to go full circle, if you will. The

Lets take this picture. Looking at it you can understand what I am saying above, but what about everything besides the lightning bolt? What about the surroundings that may have been effected or changed due to its existence?

Like in our everyday lives, we effect those around us. This lightning bolt has done more than many of us will ever do in our lives! It has been seen and heard by 100's maybe thousands of people. Look at the cars on the street, as the lightning reflects off of the back windows. What about the people that may have woken up due to this one fraction of a second? What did it do for them?

Every day we make a change to something. It is strange, to me, that most people don;t notice these changes and actions that go on around us. By taking that picture I caused that second to be captured and observed by more than just a few. By writing these thoughts I have triggered other thoughts. Maybe some people think this is a stupid rant...or maybe this motivates them to live and find something to connect with.

This bolt of lightning sadly is like so many in the world- It never connected with anything. But what it has done in changing its surrounding, like the reflections off the car windows, and those who see it, myself and you-it only took one second to make that happen.

So go and search, live, love, touch, change...anything. Just remember that whatever you do means something to someone, whether anyone ever knows that or not.

Love life, smile often and laugh till it hurts.

As always, be well*

one year...

A lot of bad can happen in one year. The world can feel global warming like never before, we can mess up our ecosystem more than ever (ie BP oil) or we can see more and more people without jobs due to greed and lack of moral standards within businesses.

How can we not let this effect our everyday lives? How can some people wake up and be upset about the fact that they don't have what they want- when they do not go and get it? So much negativity...so many people wanting to make a change in themselves, but not putting their ideas into motion.

A year or so ago I left my job of almost 9 years to explore what I could get out of this world. I had dreams of what it could be like and what I wanted. I found some of these and made them a reality. I also found some things I never thought I would/could ever do and created them.

Here are a handful of those things:

1. Learn and educate myself and others.
2. Meet and interact with people that do not know about my hobbies.
3. Create and/or find someone to create with.
4. Make everyday an adventure.
5. Open up myself to someone.
6. Live bellow my means.
7. Make someone smile and laugh everyday.
8. Change my perception- look up more than down.
9. Help someone I don't know.
10. Rebuild my family.

One year can go by so fast, that you can forget how it all started. I guess sometimes you have to leave your mark- so that you know you have been their when you get back. This blog for example was like my own mark. Up until today, I had forgotten about it.

In the past year I have found my future wife, written a book with her, gone on adventures daily, cried with her, laughed with her, been upset at, looked up at the sky for hours to find that one shooting star that we could share. I found someone that I could share my life with.

Sometimes I forget that we are two people. It is important to remember that we are ourselves with others. If we act like we are walking down this path of life as one, then we will lose a part of ourselves along the way. Sometimes you might not agree on the path or destination, but loving and knowing one another, and more importantly understanding each other; will make the word sacrifice non existent- that sacrifice becomes a moment or adventure to remember for a lifetime.

Love life, smile often and laugh till it hurts.

Hope all is well*

search, grow and go*

I never searched for this. It was just always their. I never noticed if it grew because it was always their waiting for the moment when I would realize its significance.

I remember the days a child, growing up and listening to my brother and sister as they always had some sort of advise to give me...contradicting each other. I love those days, growing up.

I wasn't till this moment captured that it all came together. We are always searching and growing. But while we are searching we sometimes forget to see how much we have grown because the searching was was not for something new...it was for someone we knew.

My mother went to a fortune teller when she was younger. the woman told her about her life and her childrens lives. She talked about all the ups and downs that my brother would have. She talked about all the loves and success that my sister would have. And it seamed like in the long run things would work out for them both.

When she got to talking about me...the "youngest" son, she had nothing exciting or creative to say. She only knew that I would be happy. That is all that she said. "He will always make people smile and be happy with whatever he is given".

I love that story because I don't care if it is true...if this really happened or not. But I do look at things and see the good in them. I have been told by many that I know that I am a very nice, caring person and that I look at the world differently.

My Aunt once said that I could see God in the Devil. I think she ment I saw the glass as half full not half empty.

differently

I love the idea of family. Although, my family has never been the type that has tons traditions, like giving cards or throwing parties for someones birthday.
I think it is the fact that my family is so small. There are just five of us and we are fairly simple in what we want. We never really need anything so we just don't get/give anything.
Last Christmas we decided to donate money instead of giving each other things that we didn't need.
I think we found a tradition that fits what we are about.

Smile, laugh and love life

Time is Air*

Go somewhere! Take an unplanned adventure. Sometimes the best times are the ones that have little to no thought behind them.
Leave your cell phone off and go! Drive, walk, bike, skateboard, run!!! Make this time perfect.
In your eyes nothing can be any less than what you think of it...so go.

Love life, keep moving and smile till it hurts.

And as always,

Be well*

If you look hard enough and just think...for a moment. Can you see them? Sitting, talking, wondering what is next. Would someone turn and meet their future wife? Would there be kindness in the eyes of a stranger?

Think about it! No cell phones or distractions other than a newspaper. People talking about what is happening in the world.

What would you talk about? Would you talk about the future?

I would talk about my dreams.

be well*

It is reality*

http://ezinearticles.com/?Is-Perception-Reality?&id=271062

Believe in youth, we always have our youth. We just don't take the time to remember how to find it. Just look around and you can find it*

perception

Sometimes:

We wait for a rainbow and all we get are more grey skys.

We wish for a flock of Doves swaying into the sunset, and all we get, is a group of Crows screaming into a street lit night sky.

We open our eyes and expect to start our morning routine, but we are confused by the smoke and darkness surrounding us.

We wonder why we are so confused.

We open a letter from someone we love, to read that the letter tells us- they no longer love us back.

We have dreams of corn mazes but can't find the beginning.

We observe our surroundings and find nothing but strangers on our birthdays.

We smile when we enter a room and no one has teeth.

We dream and never wake up, but, we realize that is because we are living our dream.

We never realize what we have because we don't have what we want.

Sometime, we need to look around and see*

I feel like we compare a lot. We have this word "perfection" that has no real written deffenision. Girls think they are too fat, buys think they have small dicks, and youth think that a zit is the end of the world.

I wish we didn't compare. It would make choices so much easier.

We find ourselves wanting what we once had, knowing that it can never happen... and looking at what we could have, pushing it away because it is not what was, in comparison.

I remember being asked a question years ago, and saying "no". I guess we all have something to compare this to.

I'm sorry I said no*

Another one bites the dust

It funny how some situations, pictures, moments or songs...etc. can bring up an old memory or make you think of someone close. Just like when you smell something it triggers a memory. It is what makes life that much more enjoyable, memories. We create new ones every day and for some everyday :)

I was out taking photos and took a shot. Started think of an old friend from NY that was one of the few that came out to visit me when I was out west. We were not the closest friends before, but she had a kind heart and was lost in her ways. Seamed like she was trying to find a new life and/or get away from herself...her memories.

I found out from a mutual friend today, that right after she some out west to visit me, she got home and overdosed on pills. I had no clue that she was even doing anything like that from her visit with me...I am usually a pretty good judge of people that are using...since I surrounded myself with quite a few addicts growing up. She was clean while out west for a few weeks. Then she just up and left. Was out of touch for a bit and she said she was having family issues with her father being sick. Then, she was gone...I guess forever.

It is hard to think that I may have seen some of the worry and the questions in her head, now that I know how the ending was...

I think that if we all knew how it would end, we could not only help ourselves, but we could help others. I guess that is why I love life. It is impossible to control, and im OK with that.

Adreanna, this picture is for you. May you find peace in something more than a memory can capture*

I don't dream, I see the future*

Sometimes I want to know what happened to the past after it happened. Did it change anyone? Did it change me?

Or did it just happen and everything stayed the same. It would be nice to think sometimes that life doesnt change us.

Maybe it's a giant mirror that we are looking into??

Please let me dream tonight. Its been so long since I had a visit from these dreams.

They haunt me, I miss them when they are absent.

Be well*

Times are a changing

It becomes harder and harder to find great people that want to go on adventures, the older you get. That or there are more and more people playing video games.

Then you meet some great people that wind up having some drug issue or some personal shit that makes them hate life. Does anyone have a grip on shit anymore? Does everyone just go to the bar to try and find someone or something to make them happy...all this is empty.

Time is air. It goes by faster and faster...get harder to take it in...and slow to a halt.

Calling all people that still want to get up early and go to bed late for the sole purpose of enjoying the whole day for what it is...a gift.

Love life, keep moving and smile till it hurts.

And as always,

Be well*

Thinking of me*

So, I have to finish write 2 papers on myself. 1. being about my previous job and activities. 2. Being about what my goals are. Why is it so hard to write about ourselves? I'm confident in what I am writing, yet at the same time...Is it relevant? I mean, I can write about what my goals are for right now, but should I put a side note that states "subject to change based upon making it through today". That would be the honest thing to do.

Why should I write...maybe it should just be a bunch of question marks ?????????????? Then say that the reason I am going back to school is to figure that out. Or should I just repeat "I want to be smarter, challenged and help people"
Times like this make me realize that communicating in written form is so bland and impersonal. I would rather teach a group of 100 people or speak about a topic to a room full of people I know or don't know, than have to write a paper about me and what/who I am.

Maybe I'll jsut bullet point the whole thing. haha.

talking to myself, outloud*

I sometimes wonder if there is a right...correct...direction to go. Is this life a test? I'm sure that if it was a final round, we would have been given instructions as to what the heck to do next! ha.
Maybe, when we get on the train and we are traveling to work, we should be that one person that starts to sing or just starts to talk...you know the one that everyone else ignores because they are to set in there "lively" ways.
Our day to days are such a beautiful blanket of security, yet they keep us tied down to an almost scare tactic...we have a hard time starting something, because of the possible failure that is involved.
I started this blog...is anyone going to read it? ehh. who knows...does that mean I have failed?
It means I have tried, that's for sure.

What things will come

Finally set up some internet networking...got with the times I guess. Facebook is up and the group will be created tomorrow...or Wednesday. Also, get it set up to Twitter. Maybe this will help me figure life out...or help other people figure it out. Who knows what things will come.
